Logan Channell has been named the new Executive Chef for The Glen at Lake Oconee, a new resort-style senior living community opening soon at Old Salem Road and Linger Longer Road.
Channell’s culinary career is one of variety, passion, and accomplishment. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Decatur, GA in 2008. He did his externship at Reynolds Plantation then became Garde Manager/Pastry Chef of their exclusive clubhouse, The Creek Club.
He went on to help open The Indigo Hotel in Athens, GA and joined Chops-n-Hops in Watkinsville to become their Sous Chef, and then served as Chef de Partie for The Athens Country Club. Logan was also Sous Chef for Jonathan’s Landing in Jupiter, Florida, and ran a kitchen for their sister clubhouse and main clubhouse. While there, he wrote his first recipe book, and Jonathan’s Landing was awarded the Distinguished Gold Club of the World.
His next venture brought him back home to Reynold’s Plantation to be trained to be a Sous Chef for the main clubhouse, The Plantation Grill. He left Reynolds to help make Fairview Market’s first breakfast and lunch menu. Also, he designed their first recipe book. After Farmview, he joined Café 44 at Lake Oconee and became the General Manager. Logan has worked the dish pit, and as server, lead server, grill cook, sauté cook, lead line, Garde Manager, Catering Chef, Banquet Chef, Pastry Chef, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, and General Manager with a total of 10 years in the kitchen.
As he worked each of these positions, he would also work in as many other kitchens as possible in order to learn as much as he could about food and different styles of restaurants. Logan is very excited about the opportunity that The Glen at Lake Oconee presents him.
Opening soon in Lake Oconee Village at 1070 Old Salem Road, The Glen will offer resort-style senior living including independent living, assisted living and memory care for a monthly fee. A joint venture of Almquist Hansen, LLC, a firm that specializes in creating lifestyle environments that maximize youthful living for senior adults; and Sugar Valley Capital Partners, a boutique investment banking firm; The Glen is being developed by Senior Southeastern, LLC.
